I heart art.

My name is Rercy Flood and I live in Dublin, Ireland with my husband and daughter. I heart all things art and have a background in art conservation, wood carving, and illustration.

I always wanted to run my own business and it had to be something creative. When restoring my home, I wanted each room to have a unique atmosphere and I knew I needed artwork to achieve that. The art I found online was either too obvious, poor quality or expensive.

In 2014, I started out as an Etsy shop and soon opened a dedicated site. Quality, price and carefully chosen artworks were at the heart of the product and so I  created a shop with a curated gallery which offers beautiful yet affordable art.

I spend considerable time and passion sourcing interesting, inspirational and unusual artwork. A wide variety of prints are available from popular fine art prints, vintage posters, botanical illustrations, to more obscure artwork.

With over 3000 customers and over three hundred and fifty 5 star reviews, customer feedback has been amazing over the last eight years! In 2017, after completing a customer survey to see how I could improve the customer experience, I streamlined the site to make it more user friendly. As well as the curated gallery, the new platform now offers inspirational mood boards, interior design advice, news and events from the art world and easy checkout.

The process

Vintage Poster Company specialises in Giclée printing. The term Giclée (zhee-klay) is derived from the French word to ‘spurt’ where prints are created by “spraying” pigment based inks onto the fine art media. These superior prints are the preferred choice by museums, galleries and professional artists.

In order to achieve faithful reproductions, each print is individually created as opposed to being mass produced on a large commercial press as in the case of lithographs. Using only archival pigment-based inks and archival substrates, this process ensures that each print has excellent colour accuracy, fade resistance and longevity.

Papers

Our small and medium Giclee prints are printed on Epson premium quality archival matte paper. Our large art prints are printed on high-quality 230gsm high-resolution matte paper. The papers special ink receiver layer and dot gain control delivers consistent and excellent results. The substrate is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. This organisation promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. We also only use Epson pigment-based archival inks to ensure beautiful and vivid results.

Restoration

We carefully restore our high resolution images to ensure that the final print has the sharpest detail while still retaining its original feel. In this respect, there may be limits to what the results are, so please look carefully at the image before purchasing.

Sizes

Our art prints are available in three different size papers.

Small A4 size: (8.3" x 11.7" or 210mm x 297mm) - Epson archival matte paper
